Firefighters from Pennington and Meade counties extinguished a blaze Monday at a house in Black Hawk

According to Pennington County Fire Services, the home at 5907 Pine St. was occupied when the fire started, but no occupants or firefighters were hurt and the fire was contained to the home.

Agencies that responded to the fire were the Black Hawk Volunteer Fire Department, Piedmont Fire & Ambulance Service, North Haines Volunteer Fire Department, Rapid City Fire Department, Ellsworth AFB Fire Department, Box Elder Volunteer Fire Department, Johnson Siding Volunteer Fire Department, Rapid Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Doty Volunteer Fire Department, Whispering Pines Volunteer Fire Department, Mead County Sheriff’s Office, Meade County Emergency Management, South Dakota Fire Marshal’s Office, Red Cross (serving west and central South Dakota), Montana Dakota Utilities, Black Hills Energy, Pennington County 911 and Pennington County Fire.

In Rapid City, crews also responded to a fire at about 4:30 p.m. Monday in a detached garage at 1108 North Seventh St. No one was hurt, and the fire was contained to the garage.
