The Regional Health Sustainability Program will receive the Rapid City Sustainability Award at Monday’s City Council meeting, according to a press release.

The award is presented quarterly by the Standing Committee on Sustainability for projects that contribute to the social, environmental and economic sustainability of the community.

Regional Health is being recognized for a number of programs, including expanding its recycling efforts, donating outdated and expired medical supplies, furniture and equipment to the nonprofit Convoy of Hope, maintaining bee hives on its property, switching from disposable wipes to reusable microfiber cloths, installing solar array at two urgent care clinics, and buying produce and other foods from local vendors.

Monday's City Council meeting starts at council chambers at 6:30 p.m. at 300 6th St.
