It is great that Rapid City has the tax dollars to pay for a new bigger arena, heat, electric, cleaning, etc. Wouldn't it be just as great or better if there were tax dollars to fix the terrible streets we will have to drive on to get to that monument to personal ambition?
Ever notice people who say we need tougher immigration laws to protect us are the same ones who say tougher gun laws won't protect us? Seems to me you can't have it both ways.
We had the same complaints 40 years ago about building the civic center yet literally everyone in the entire Black Hills has benefited in one way or another. Just think what a new facility would do for our economy.
Life must be boring when you are always against everything. Look to the future and opt for a new arena and growth for Rapid City.
I'm sure the mayor sees his name on the new arena, but I would propose a name more venue appropriate, more nationally recognizable and less controversial — the Adam Vinatieri Arena.
