As a S.D. resident since 1951 and a registered Democrat, I have been surprised to get two phone calls recently asking me to apply for an absentee ballot and vote for the Republican candidate for governor and also for a contribution. The punch line is that the governor's race is for Alaska.
In order to fund the animal shelter adequately, we should reduce by 10 percent the wages of every Rapid City municipal employee and school employee who makes over $100,000 per year. They wouldn’t miss it, and the shelter would be adequately funded.
In endorsing Dusty Johnson, the Journal says that he should do what Bjorkman has proposed to do. Makes more sense to just vote for Bjorkman.
I have to say I have a great respect for farmers/ranchers in our state (many are friends/family), but I think it's quite comical how many complain about our welfare system, yet take government subsidies/payouts themselves.
Having people on TV saying I am a Republican but voting for Billie or I have always voted Republican but this year it is different is nothing but an unverified TV commercial as anyone can say they are the opposite party of what they really are. Shows what little intelligence they think voters have.
