    The Black Hills State football team hung with unbeaten and No. 5 Colorado School of Mines in the first half, before the Orediggers pulled away in the second half for a 41-20 win Saturday at Lyle Hare Stadium in Spearfish.

    Senior Alyssia Martinez hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Black Hills State University women's basketball team to its first win of the season, 72-69 over Fort Lewis College Saturday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play in Durango, Colo.

    While the Black Hills State University men's team will have to sit this weekend out, the Yellow Jacket women are slated to finally open  at Western Colorado University and Fort Lewis College.

    Black Hills State men's and women's basketball have postponed their Nov. 22 and 23 meetings with Regis and Colorado Mines, and rescheduled them to be played Jan. 3 and 4, respectively.

    Black Hills State football announced the cancelation of its Nov. 7 home game against South Dakota School of Mines on Sunday due to concerns surrounding COVID-19.

    As a first-year head football coach hired in December 2019, Josh Breske had to wait until the end of August 2020 to officially get out on the field with his Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets.
