Hot Springs high school student bags a turkey

Earlier this spring, recently graduated Hot Springs High School senior Lexy Preheim bagged her first-ever turkey while hunting with local National Wild Turkey Federation member Ted Wick, who also managed to get a turkey of his own during the hunt for the “double.”

The hunt was special as Preheim also received the annual John & Bonnie Rock Scholarship from the Fall River Chapter of the NWTF this year.

“She is a fine lady and a good hunter,” Wick said. “I wish her well with college and her future.”

Preheim plans to attend Oregon Coast Community College this coming fall, and study marine biology through the aquarium science program.
