South Dakota School of Mines men's basketball head coach Jason Henry has announced that Kaedyn Hanson has joined the program as part of the early signing period for NCAA Division II basketball.
Hanson is a 6-foot-7-inch, 245-pound center from Stanley, N.D. He is the team captain for the Stanley High School Blue Jays where he's earned All-Conference accolades and a number of academic honors.
"Kaedyn is a big and strong young man that will bring a physical presence to the Hardrocker basketball program, and we couldn't be more excited," Henry said in a release. "He has a strong inside game and is very good facing up to the basket. In addition, Kaedyn possesses dynamic athletic ability and is explosive off the ground."
Hanson helped Stanley earn a 19-8 overall record and 7-2 mark in its district last season and seventh-place finish in the North Dakota Class B State Tournament. It was Stanley's first appearance at the state tournament in almost 80 years.
While attending South Dakota Mines Hanson has an interest in pursuing a degree in engineering.
