The Rapid City Stevens boys’ basketball team improved to 5-1 early in the season with a 76-52 victory over Alliance, Neb., on Friday night in Rapid City.
The Raiders got out to a hot start, as they carried a 23-10 lead into the second quarter.
The Bulldogs kept the second quarter close, but Stevens was able to extend its lead to 41-25 headed into the halftime break.
In the third, the Raiders pushed their advantage to 22 points and led 56-34 with one quarter remaining.
Stevens held off any late push from Alliance on its way to sealing the win.
Cooper Bowman led the way for the Raiders with 24 points and seven rebounds, while Will Moore chipped in with 14 points and Gib Elder added 11.
Mason Hiemstra and Reece Jensen paced the Bulldogs with 13 points apiece.
Rapid City Stevens is back in action at the start of the new year when it travels to Pierre on Jan. 2.
BELLE FOURCHE 58, LEMMON 32: Despite trailing at the end of the first quarter, Belle Fourche bounced back the rest of the way as it scored a win over Lemmon on Friday.
The Broncs outscored the Cowboys 15-6 in the second, 13-2 in the third and 19-12 in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
Kelby Olson led Belle Fourche with 16 points. Chandler Kerr added 11 points and Tate Hostetter finished with 10.
Kerr and Hostetter led the Broncs in rebounds with seven apiece, while Olson chipped in with five.
Belle Fourche (2-3) will play Aberdeen Roncalli on the first night of the Cavalier Christmas Classic on Thursday, while Lemmon (1-5) will host Newell Jan. 5.
BELLE FOURCHE 69, LEMMON 24: Belle Fourche remained unbeaten with a lopsided win over Lemmon on Friday.
Shayla Howell paced the Broncs with 16 points; Mandee Williamson added 13 points and Taylor Hanson finished with 10.
Taylor Drayton led the Cowgirls with 11 points, while Tayte Kohn chipped in with seven.
Belle Fourche (5-0) will take on Aberdeen Central in Rapid City on Thursday, while Lemmon (2-4) hosts Faith on Jan. 2.
RAPID CITY STEVENS 63, ALLIANCE, NEB., 50: Rapid City Stevens picked up a win on the road as it dropped Alliance on Friday night.
