New rules finalized by the South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks Commission on March 6 are meant to stem the spread of existing aquatic invasive species in the state.
The rules will not take effect until 20 days after they filed with the Secretary of State's office, estimated to happen from mid-April to early May.

The GF&P plans to launch a new website with updated information on the new rules as well as an educational awareness campaign on invasive species.
