Frequently referred to as “Swish Trish,” Tricia Lukawski found ways to score while tallying 1,869 points during her four years at Chadron State. And, she also handed out 339 assists.
Three decades ago, former Chadron State College women’s head basketball coach Kip Cady jumped in the car with his wife, Ruth, and daughter Erin and drove nearly 12 hours from Nebraska to Oklahoma to watch a young lady play in a single basketball game. It was a moment when Coach Cady knew he had found himself a star. She was Tricia Lukawski from East Chicago, Ind.
