Wilson Yee is moving on. The Chadron State Eagles’ placekicker for the last three seasons graduates Friday, Dec. 12, with a major in interdisciplinary studies and two minors: one in music, the other in strength and conditioning. His degree reflects his diverse interests, but his goal now is the same as it was when he first came to Chadron — to get to pro football.
Wilson Yee scored 203 points for the Chadron State Eagles the past three seasons, kicking 39 field goals and 86 extra points. Seven of his field goals were at least 50 yards long, His holder much of the time was All-American punter Brodie Eisenbraun.
Wilson Yee had not played the piano in front of others until he walked into the Chadron coffee shop in the spring of ’23 as a new transfer and sat down at the piano.
Wilson Yee put his stamp on his tenure with the Eagles this season. His 47-yard field goal in overtime against Western Colorado, after he’d booted a 50-yarder earlier in the game, propelled the Eagles into the playoffs for the first time since 2012. He also hit a 47-yarder in the final game, a 20-17 loss to Pittsburg State. For the season Yee made 6-9 field goals from 40-49 yards and was named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference first team.
