The death Wednesday of media magnate Ted Turner, who owned a vast amount of land in Nebraska, could have hefty ramifications on the state, a former state senator said.
Ted Turner has donated an 80,000-acre ranch north of Gordon, pictured, to the Turner Institute for Ecoagriculture, which will conduct research while raising bison and generating income off grazing lands. The nonprofit had continued to pay property taxes on the land, but its unclear if that will continue.
