The Declaration of Independence — innovatively reimagined on t-shirts — will stretch across the Sandhills landscape of Rushville, Nebraska, on Sunday, Aug. 2. Black Hills artists and residents contributed to “Self-Evident,” a distinctive art installation celebrating the United States’ 250th birthday.
Noah Westergaard of Rapid City holds his submission of his name and his chosen word from the Declaration of Independence for the art installation “Self-Evident.” Residents from Rapid City, Sturgis, Spearfish and Custer participated in “Self-Evident.” The art installation, which will be on display Aug. 2 in Rushville, Nebraska, displays the words of the entire Declaration of Independence on 1,332 T-shirts.
