I always say Sturgis is a great anthropological event. Good people watching. Bikini Beach sounded so ribald, I figured it was worth taking a gander. And my overall takeaway was this is a place where people come to have good fun and let loose. Not for the blue hairs, but not a bacchanal, either.
I had a few drinks while taking in the scene. My notes:
Forgot hat.
Motorized porta-potty.
Whip cream Twister. Fell off the people, but made the mat slippery. Basically, scantily-clad Twister.
A Twister participant: “I think back to college and do that here."
A yoga instructor won.
3:23 p.m.: Man in hiking boots and swim trunks.
Rope swing popular. Men and women.
Backflip just because.
3:46 p.m.: Boots still on.
Burnout parade on road nearby. Longish.
Pictionary.
Guy from “Succession” in backwards hat, talking on phone.
Dog.
Upon closer look, guy from "Succession" looks more AND less like guy from Succession."
I guess I'm here seeing if i could see the weirdest thing for a Snapshot. (Ed. note - I didn’t, whole thing was fairly tame)
This guy both does and does not look like the guy from "Succession."
Tattoos, backpack guy. Bandana. Water socks.
"Succession" guy on the move, on phone.
Homemade bikini contest next
Fat Bradley Cooper.
Fat Bradley Cooper toasts his buddies
Left before the homemade bikini contest.
The long walk to the car. Three mins as a drifter.
I think I’m going to get $30 worth of Taco Bell
As I make that note, a motorcycle stalls out. Didn’t clock the brand.
Now we're meta. I just emailed these notes to myself.
