After its narrow 29-26 win over Alliance last Friday night, the Chadron High School football team will now meet the team that defeated the Bulldogs 20-0 the previous Friday—Sept. 25.

Chadron High junior Gracie Calkins continued to place high in every cross country race she enters by finishing fourth among the 33 contestants at the Scottsbluff Invitational Meet last Friday, Oct. 2.
Calkins finished the race in 20 minutes, 4.3 seconds. Teammate Brynn Buskirk also made the top 10, placing 8th in 21:10.6. Other Cardinals Lillie Uhing in 22:38.9 and Anna Gouldie in 22:44.2 were 18th and 19th.
As a team, the Cardinals were third with 47 points. Scottsbluff was the winer with 21, followed by Chase County with 28. Gering was fourth with 51.
Individually, freshman Nina Polk of Scottsbluff was the winner in 19:14.5, five seconds faster than runner-up Addison Hauxwell, a sophomore from Chase County. Another Scottsbluff freshman, Hannah Wemhoff, was third in 19:52.0.
Hannah’s brother, Gavin Wemhoff, won the boys’ race in 16:37.9. Cole Tregemba of Torrington was second in 16:56.2.
Chadron’s leaders were Braylon Branson and Maxx Stewart. They were 16th and 17th in 18:19.3 and 18:50.0.
Scottsbluff won the boys’ team title with 33 points, three better than Sidney. Gering was third with 41 and Chase County fourth with 71.
