The first high school meet to take place on the three-year old Chadron State College track and field last Saturday, March 21 was a stellar function. There were at least 20 entries and sometimes 30 in numerous events.

Chadron High’s Johnny Hoffman and Scottsbluff’s Harrison Maser were neck and neck when this photo was taken about midway through the 300-meter hurdles on Saturday. Maser went on to win this  race while Hoffman was third, but the Chadron sophomore had already won the 110-meter highs.
Chadron junior Hannah Sprock had career-best marks of 38-5 in the shot put and 107-10 3/4 in the discus while placing second and third, respectively, in those events at the CSC High School Meet on Saturday, March 21.
Chadron junior Sophie Watson had a good day for the Cardinals at the CSC High School Meet last Saturday. She was second in the 100 high hurdles as shown here and cleared 5-foot-2 to place fourth in the high jump.
