Led by six individual medal winners and two men’s relay teams that posted some of the Eagles’ fastest times in history, the Chadron State College track and field teams had numerous highlights to celebrate at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Meet at Pueblo, Colo., last weekend (April 24-26).
Chadron State freshman Ayden Hartzell had already placed in both the 200- and 400-meter races when he anchored the Eagles’ 4x400 relay at the RMAC Championships on Sunday. The relay’s time of 3:13.23 seconds is CSC’s second-fastest all-time.
Chadron State senior Tavion (Mike) Brownfield hadn’t thrown the discus since he was a high school sophomore, but seven years later won the event at the RMAC Meet on Friday, April 24, with throw of 169-2, 12 feet farther than his previous best.
