At Rapid Referrals, the premier medical marijuana card clinic in South Dakota, our mission is to certify all patients with qualifying medical conditions. We believe it’s important that all patients have access to the herbal remedy they have the legal right to use.
This clinic was created because we are advocates for medical cannabis and believe in the therapeutic benefits of blending naturopathic remedies with traditional medicine.
Medical marijuana card process
The medical card process is simple. First, we conduct a phone screening with a potential patient to determine if they have a qualifying medical condition.
We have a “trust-first” policy, which means that on your first visit to Rapid Referrals, we don’t require medical records as proof of diagnosis. We recognize not every patient uses traditional medical care, and they may not have medical records to provide.
Recent data confirms that chronic pain is the leading reason for medical marijuana use across the nation. Pain is subjective. There’s no test or imaging study that can prove or disprove pain or rate its severity.
Lack of a qualifying medical condition is the most common reason for denial of a medical marijuana card.
Fortunately for South Dakotans, the Senate’s Health and Human Services Committee passed a bill on Jan. 18, 2023 to expand the list of qualifying conditions, including PTSD, a common diagnosis for our nation’s veterans. This is a step in the right direction. Still, many mental health diagnoses remain off the list.
Medical consultations
Years of experience caring for the sickest of patients has led us at Rapid Referrals to a very clear appreciation of the complexities of each individual’s pain. We think it is also important that patients understand that medical marijuana certifications are not the only reason to see Rapid Referrals.
With our expertise, we can make specific diet and lifestyle recommendations to enhance each patient’s unique endocannabinoid system. We are also available to patients for follow-up, including a required follow-up in one year.
Finding a pro-cannabis medical provider — especially one who’s willing to certify a patient in a state where medical marijuana is newly legalized — can be difficult for patients. The reasons for this include the prevalence of misinformation on social media, as well as the fear of professional backlash by many medical professionals. To make matters worse, the state does not publish a list of certified providers, so it can be challenging to find a credible, reliable medical doctor.
No patient should be denied access to medical marijuana simply because they can’t find a qualified doctor. Rapid Referrals provides a safe haven for South Dakota patients in need. Visit myrapidcard.com to schedule a consultation.
