The swishing water jets, the colorful lights, the fresh clean scents — for many people, a trip through the car wash represents a relaxing moment of calm in an otherwise hectic day.
Rapid City residents Todd and Laca Ossenfort opened their first Super Clean Car Wash location in 2000, adding a second in 2007 and a third three years ago this January, offering both self-serve bays and an express tunnel wash.
“We both have a longtime love for cars,” Laca says. “When I was growing up, my dad owned nice cars and it was my job to wash them and take care of them. Todd has always been intrigued by the car wash business, and we both wanted to create something that was entirely ours.”
With a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee, the Ossenforts pride themselves on the level of service their Super Clean team is able to provide.
“For us, it’s all about making the customers happy,” Laca assures. “If someone isn’t pleased, we will rewash their car immediately, no questions asked.”
Get a car wash daily with an easy-to-use, affordable Lightning Pass
The only car wash in town with a Family Pass program that allows a second family member to purchase the same monthly plan for half price, Super Clean offers three Lightning Pass options — the Deluxe Wash for $17.95/month, the Premium Plan for $24.95/month, and an Ultimate Plan for $31.95/month. Customers get a sticker to place on their front windshield to expedite service anytime they pull in without ever even having to roll down their window. A Super Clean Car Wash app is available through Google and Apple app stores, allowing customers to manage their accounts and purchase gift cards.
“With the Lightning Pass, you can wash your car once a day every day if you want!” Laca explains. “How often to wash is really a matter of personal preference and depends on where and how much you drive. In the winter, washing is important to keep corrosive salt off your car, and during the summer, you want to wash your car regularly to remove dust, dirt, bugs and pollen.”
Making the car wash a place for the whole family to enjoy
Super Clean makes car washes fun for the whole family by placing plastic dinosaurs in the dryer room for kids to spot and distributing treats to children and dogs.
“We also keep towels on hand for the kids so they can help dry the cars, and our vacuums are always available at no charge,” Laca adds. “It really turns the whole experience into an event for them to participate in.”
The Ossenforts believe in being good community partners by supporting local youth sports teams, schools and arts organizations, but their top priority remains being able to provide excellent service and convenient, high-quality car washes for their customers.
“We have sold over 10,000 Lightning Passes and washed over 1 million cars!” Laca says. “Watching cars get clean is so satisfying. We love to see our customers smile; it’s instant gratification.”
Super Clean Car Wash offers two Rapid City locations, open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, visit supercleantunnelwash.com.
