Bison Vs Bell

The next day they were in Belle Fourche for the Belle Fourche Invitational. 

The Bison bounced back well with two individual wins courtesy of Kody Hagen and Garrett Heil. The team finished 5th in the field of 22 teams. 

Head coach Ray Ringstmeyer said, "The Belle Fourche dual was a disappointing dual to lose due to the circumstances which we had to face coming into the dual.  Some untimely injuries, a missed weight, some other distractions that as a varsity program we shouldn’t have to deal with.  All sound like excuses, but when dealing with high school students, a lot of these things that seem like just excuses can have a major impact on their performance.  I think we are still a very good wrestling team, but we have yet to prove it."

He added, "It was a good rebound at the Belle Fourche Invitational.  Kody and Garrett have been our leaders all season long and it was great that they both ended up with tourney championships together to finish off our toughest month of  wrestling of the season."

The Bison have one meet a week for the month of February. This is a big change of pace for Hot Springs, who have had three meets a week for the last three weeks. 

Ringstmeyer said, "This week we only have a Saturday tourney up in Hill City, so we are going to slow things down and focus on improving some areas we are still lacking…like finishing takedowns correctly and some fundamental stuff that we need to improve."
